About Tijan the Birdman

I am Tijan Kanteh a 47 year old Gambian who speaks very good English. I have my own transport, a Mitsubusi mini-bus that will seat 8, for larger groups I can organise Land Rovers.

I started my birdwatching in 1988 when I worked at the Atlantic Hotel and was soon asked to develop a bird garden for visitors (it is still there today). My boss at the hotel was Clive Barlow (author of Birds of Gambia and Senegal) and I travelled with him on many excursions as he researched the book.

I have travelled all over Gambia and Senegal and know all the productive sites.I can organise all trips to meet the needs of all levels of birdwatchers.
